Bike Safety Lessons

Thank you to Constable Wayne and Kirsty who came in and talked to us about cycle safety and gave us lessons. The Year 3 and 4 children really enjoyed this activity.

A few key things were:

  • replacing our helmet if it got cracked
  • having a helmet that fits correctly and
  • ABCs - air, brakes, chain and seat at the correct height
  • staying about 1.5 m away from cars
  • signalling
  • what to do at a give way and a stop sign
  • looking behind and signalling
  • using your front and back brake at the same time to stop safely
  • wear a vest if you can
  • keep left
The following fact sheet is a useful one:

Our Toy display

Today we were very excited because we had invited our parents to our Year 3 Karakia and Waiata, and to see our toy display. We are very proud of what we have achieved.
Come and have a look at some of the things we have made.

These are only some of our amazing creations . You can come and see all of them at the School Fair on Saturday 12th November.

Easy Blog Photo
Today we went to a concert in the hall put on by New Zealand Playhouse. It was very funny and they taught us an important message about using social media on the Internet.
