Autumn Festival Parade.

What an awesome turnout for the parade. We thought our float looked amazing. A special thanks to The McRae's for their trailer,  building the rails and securing all the scarecrows on. Thanks also to all the parents and children who came to take part. It was so much fun. Enjoy the rest of the holidays and we will see you in a weeks time.

Scarecrows

Today we made scarecrows for the autumn festival. We had to think of a book character and work together in small groups to plan and make them. We had so much fun and we did a fantastic job.
A huge thank you to the parents. We could not have made these without you.

We were inspired by a book we read called "Scarecrows from Space".

Here we are in action.
Hmmm. I wonder who they are making?

Here is the very start of Paddington Bear.

Here are our completed scarecrows.

Miss Trunchbull, from Matilda

Ronald Weasley, from Harry Potter.

Willy Wonka

Cat in the Hat

Steve, from Minecraft

I think we can all guess who this is.

Netball

The netball season has started. It was great to see so many girls from our year playing. Girls- you were all amazing. Here is the Neptune team looking very smart in their uniforms.
Keep sending photos and results to me throughout the season and I will continue to update the blog with these.
To all the soccer and rugby teams- you can do the same. It is great to see how we are going with our sports.

Rhythmic Patterns.

We are getting really clever at clapping simple rhythmic patterns. Here are a couple of clapping games  that are a wee bit more tricky. We are practising them and they are lots of fun. Can you do them?

This one is called Sevens

A popular kids song in America is called Bim Bum.

Here we are creating our own.

WELL DONE ROOM 5!

Class of the week for Mathletics and a silver award for Hagen and Willi.

Colours

Today our class did writing with Mrs Clarke. We wrote about colours. and we used lots of adjectives to "colour" our writing.

Colours
The colour white makes me think of sparkling, shimmering ice and snow in winter. The glaciers sparkle in the sun. White fluffy clouds. White  bloom shimmering in the sun light. Paper dancing around on the floor. Shimmering white rocks in the blue water.
By Jenna

Multicolours make me think of a big lego box and a poster and a shiny rainbow. A ben ten top and pens in a cup and a front cover of a book. colour pencils and a smiley face. Sticker pack and a hot air balloon.
By Finn

The colour blue makes me think of the shimmering water across the lake with the shining sky above. The colour yellow makes me think of the boiling, shimmering sun, and the busy bees buzzing around the shining sun flower.
By Annie

The colour orange makes me think of a tropical sunset or rising bubbly lava. It also makes me think of the orange hot sun shining.
By Dominic

The colour blue makes me think of the big wild sea and the bluebirds flying over and blue wide scary clouds with the sky.
By James.

The colour red is like a berry shining high up in the tree and shimmering in the bush too. I love it because I think it is amazing.
By Hugo.

The colour blue makes me think of the shining rocks in the warm blue water. The shining blue sky makes me want to be up there on the clouds. The colour blue makes me want to be on butterfly wings. The colour blue makes me want to see a blue apple in the shining sun.
